A Study in Charlotte
A Study in Charlotte - Brittany Cavallaro
Some parts were really good and other parts were 'meh'.

I was so excited to read this book as a fan of anything that screams 'mystery' and 'Sherlock Holmes'. I'm also talking about a MODERN DAY escapade of Sherlock and Watson, what could go wrong, right? Everything, not everything.

I have nothing against the gender of Sherlock and Watson in this book, in a matter of fact, I'm a BIG BIG BIG fan of Elementary wherein Watson is a woman! I think the concept of this book was really good, Sherlock as high school female teenager? Exciting, right.

However, I was so disappointed upon finishing this book. There's just something off about the story which I'm having a hard time to pin point what exactly made me go 'meh'. I guess I had a hard time contemplating what exactly the reason why James Watson was so obsessed to Charlotte Holmes. Their actions felt weird and forced to me. I was more hoping that Study in Charlotte would follow the path Elementary made. Although, I knew where the author is coming for, I mean, this is her story and she can do whatever she wanted.

The murder in this book was also 'meh' for me. It wasn't exciting but the concept behind replicating the other stories of The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes was really cool.

A Study in Charlotte wasn't really that bad, in fact, there were parts which I truly enjoyed. I guess this book is not really just for me.

Ask Me
Ask Me - Kimberly Pauley
Mixed feelings! There were some parts of the story that I didn't like but overall it was enjoyable.

I definitely love the concept of Ask me, it was refreshing than the normal mystery thriller out there. However, I felt like it was missing something especially the back story behind the protagonist's gift. I would love it if the author ventured a little bit more about the Greek mythology. I was sure it would be much more interesting other than Aria being confused about her feelings.

The killer was also so obvious from the start. I think what really made me feel excited is to know if my guess was right, and I am! Moreover, I'm happy that the author risked the story line to provide her readers a unique whodunit.

All in all, it was fun to read about Aria's life, her struggles to fight her gift and find the truth.

Never Never: Part Three
Never Never: Part Three - Colleen Hoover
I'm not satisfied. I'm very disappointed on how this book turns out. I know that it's a novella but heck, there's no rational explanation for everything. I don't think, us, readers deserve this kind of conclusion on what really happened to Silas and Charlie. I felt like I wasted my life waiting for one novella to one novella.

Never Never has probably the best concept ever. It's freaking mysterious and sexy. The characters were okay, sometimes I hated their decisions in life but sometimes I just couldn't help but to vouch for them. Silas and Charlie's chemistry was so palpable through out the whole story.

However, look how the story turned out. I just can't believe that they left it at that. Every single thing about this third novella felt rushed! I know that it's the last book so Fisher and Hoover needed to move things fast a little bit but couldn't they just give us a freaking good explanation about everything.

Anyway, it's still a good novella. I absolutely loved Charlie and Silas in this book. I honestly couldn't stop giggling about them. I've been thinking that it was probably much better if this novella was a whole book. I'd probably love every part of it.

Me Before You
Me Before You - Jojo Moyes
You are scored on my heart, you clever-handsome Will Traynor, and you, Louisa Clark with your stupid clothes and remarks.

It hurts. Everything about this book, these characters, the story, hurts me.

The Fixer
The Fixer - Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Wow! I never thought I would loved this book. At first, it was a bit slow and it frustrated be but there's a reason why this book took so long build up. I definitely loved the characters, especially the protagonist, she was freaking badass. The author made sure that we get to know them better, chapter by chapter. Also, there's no rush romance in here which is better but I know that there's a tiny bit there waiting to explode. I definitely want to see the progress of Henry and Ivy in the next book.

I loved the mixture of politics, drama, mystery and suspense. I never thought I would read this kind of story. I'm not a fan of politics myself but the author made sure that I'll be glued to the story.

The twists in this book made me go, "WHAT?", and there's more we need to know! The author isn't finish yet to break my heart. I can't wait to read the 2nd book. The fixer is the 1st book I've read this year and it didn't dissapoint me at all.

Gakuen Alice, Vol. 01
Gakuen Alice, Vol. 01 - Tachibana Higuchi
I absolutely loved this manga! I remember when I was in high school I couldn't help but to feel really giddy while watching this anime. I'm so disappointed that it took me so long to read this manga. Every single scene in this story was so funny, cute, and emotional. Gakuen Alice made me laugh and cry at the same time. I'll definitely missed the gang!

The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall
The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall - Katie Alender
A very refreshing read! What a strange thing to say, to think that this is a horror book. I've already read Katie Alender's Bad Girls Don't Die and to be honest, I did not enjoy it. However, this book got me really curious because of its title. Reading this book, I honestly have no idea what it is about other than there are dead girls in the hysteria hall.

The protagonist, Delia, a 16-year old teenage girl who inherited a creepy house from her distant great-great-great grandmother. Delia, according to her parents, is a troubled kid who needs some discipline therefore they'd arranged a vacation to stay in the creepy house. Lots of creepy things happened after that which I never thought I would really enjoy.

The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall is really different from the other horror books out there. This book has all the elements I was looking for in a story. It's very well-written and I definitely loved Delia's character, she's a snarky teenager who never failed to amuse me because of her narration. Her voice is so real that I felt all of her emotions. I like the way the author made all the other characters like they are really part of the story, do you know what I mean? They all had their moments and that made me to get to know them better and they all had the biggest part of making this book so awesome.

The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall has the great balance of humor, teenage angst, creepiness and sadness.

Ruthless
Ruthless - Carolyn Lee Adams
It was very action pack and thrilling!

Although I felt like there's something missing about the "Wolfman's" personality. This book is more focus on the victim and I don't have any problems with that, I just hope that the author gave us more insights about the the "Wolfman" and more reason to hate him.

Also, I didn't know the reason behind the extra chapters. I don't think they were necessary. All in all, it was a good read and I enjoyed it.

Say Her Name
Say Her Name - James Dawson
This is my first book of James Dawson and it sure did not disappoint me!I'm a horror fanatic and I've already read a lot of horror books but they never did actually scare me until I've read Say Her Name.

I also love reading stories about Urban Legends and Bloody Mary is one of my favorite stories out there. So when this book popped up on my timeline, I immediately grabbed some money and bought this book.

This book is freakishly scary! I remember when I was a little kid, I was really afraid to say "Bloody Mary" in front of a mirror because I was pretty sure that I was gonna die right after I said her name. Reading "Say Her Name" brought up that memory. I had a hard trouble reading this at night and alone because Dawson's way of writing surely crept me out. Add the setting to the scary factor, the story is set up at a boarding school exclusive for girls only.

This book is really enjoyable even though it scared the shit out of me and I definitely loved the twists and turns the author gave to his readers and can we talk about the ending? It had me going nuts! I loved the way the author gave as a story of Mary's past and how she ended up that way.

This book is really perfect for horror fans like me but be sure to this read this book with a light on and please stay away from mirrors!
